Save&Raid taking a break
Friends,
It’s with heavy hearts we write this announcement. The active leadership team has hit an impasse—with a strong desire to see the event succeed while balancing the additional responsibilities and stress in our personal lives. After several meetings together, including one with our chosen charity SAVE, we have come to the conclusion that we need to cancel/postpone this event in the last weekend of February. No new date has been scheduled at this time. We are going to take the time to pause, reflect, and reevaluate how to improve this relationship between the work we do together and the amazing community that supports this mental health care event.
As of this writing we have 24 amazing streamers signed up—not including anyone from the leadership team yet. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. You believe in a goal of bringing Suicide Awareness and Education to worldwide communities both online and in person. Not counting some donations made directly to SAVE which were not recorded in Tiltify, we have raised over 77 thousand dollars (US) for suicide prevention and mental health. We all look forward to seeing that number grow again in the future.
So where do we go from here? Consider using that charitable energy and running your own campaign for SAVE—or another charity that aligns with the good you want to see in the world. It can be an international scale or other large organizational level. Your efforts can be very local to have results where you live—bettering your neighborhoods and neighbors (note: please excuse our American spelling).
Whether you are a first time volunteer ready to contribute this year or you’ve been streaming and supporting this event since our humble beginnings, to every single one of you that participated for the betterment of others—thank you. SAVE has also extended their heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved over the years—impacting lives at home and abroad for the betterment of us all. Truly we could not do this event without you; the greater Twitch community and beyond. Let us all take this time to pause, catch our breath, and allow the magic to flow in the space we are allocating for ourselves and each other. Much love, respect, and appreciation from everyone involved in any capacity to one another. May the coming Tombs be SAFE to RAID in the future!
Sincerely,
Save & Raid Leadership Team
